As a Dispatcher I, you will play a crucial role in assigning motor vehicles and drivers for the conveyance of building materials, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Main Responsibilities
- Compile a list of available vehicles.
- Assign vehicles based on trip length, freight or passenger requirements, and user preferences.
- Assign orders to lift operators for inventory retrieval.
- Issue keys, record sheets, and credentials to drivers.
- Record departure times, destinations, cargo details, and expected return times.
- Investigate overdue vehicles and direct driver activities via two-way radio.
- Coordinate with customers to resolve issues such as missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise.
- Maintain records of mileage, fuel usage, repairs, and other expenses.
- Establish service or delivery routes and assign helpers to drivers.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; 6 months to 1 year of related experience or training.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and regulations.
- Basic math skills and ability to carry out calculations accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Work Environment
This role requires regular sitting with occasional standing. You may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and varying outdoor weather conditions. Noise levels are generally moderate.
