Job Overview
This position provides physical security and roving patrol to maintain a safe working environment across the APS-5 footprint. The incumbent must possess the physical and mental capacity to effectively "detect, defer, observe, and report" to safeguard personnel and property.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Stand static guard posts and conduct roving patrols as directed.
- Monitor and verify proper identification of employees and visitors at access control points.
- Maintain entry/exit control logs and required documentation.
- Follow detailed instructions to complete routine, standardized tasks.
- Observe, monitor, and promptly report all incidents and suspicious activities.
- Complete required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Sound alarms and contact emergency services when needed.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all organizational levels.
- Report any alarms, suspicious activities, or property damage to the Security Operations Manager.
- Instill a safety-first culture that minimizes accidents and lost-time injuries.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Experience: One (1) or more years of civilian and/or military security or law enforcement experience.
- Specialized Knowledge: Knowledge of security operations, supervisory principles, and advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Advanced written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal abilities.
Certification, License & Clearance
- T1 NACI or higher required for U.S. Citizens.
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- Note: U.S. Citizenship is required for facility credentials at this location.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Must work efficiently in extreme environmental conditions (dust, high temperatures).
- Must endure long hours, exposure to weather, and hazardous conditions.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
