Work Environment & Setting
Environment: Outdoors, At heights, Dangerous, Noisy, Hot, Cold/refrigerated, Dusty
Setting: Drilling and well service contractor, Rural area, Various locations. Willing to relocate (relocation costs not covered by employer).
Responsibilities
- Align and manipulate sections of pipe or drill stem from a platform on the rig derrick.
- Drive the well services truck to the well site.
- Train floorhands, assistants, and helpers.
- Attach pumps and hoses to the wellhead.
- Operate hydraulic pumping systems.
- Read gauges to interpret conditions and adjust pumping procedures.
- Assist in setting up, taking down, and transporting drilling and service rigs.
Credentials
- Standard First Aid Certificate
- Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate
- Rig Worker Fall Protection
Additional Information
Security & Safety: Driver's license validity check, Driving record check, and Drug test required.
Transportation: Valid driver's license; must be willing to travel.
Work Conditions: Fast-paced environment, heavy loads, physically demanding tasks requiring manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; involves sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
Personal Suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, good judgement, reliability, and teamwork.
